Ukraine’s Got Talent", Kseniya Simonova - Amazing Vidoe Clip

The attached video shows the winner of "Ukraine’s Got Talent", Kseniya Simonova, 24, drawing a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II.

Her talent, which admittedly is a strange one, is mesmeric to watch. The images, projected onto a large screen, moved many in the audience to tears and she won the top prize of about £75,000.

She begins by creating a scene showing a couple sitting holding hands on a bench under a starry sky, but then warplanes appear and the happy scene is obliterated. It is replaced by a woman’s face crying, but then a baby arrives and the woman smiles again. Once again war returns and Miss Simonova throws the sand into chaos from which a young woman’s face appears. She quickly becomes an old widow, her face wrinkled and sad, before the image turns into a monument to an Unknown Soldier. This outdoor scene becomes framed by a window as if the viewer is looking out on the monument from within a house. In the final scene, a mother and child appear inside and a man standing outside, with his hands pressed against the glass, saying goodbye.

The Great Patriotic War, as it is called in Ukraine, resulted in one in four of the population being killed with eight to 11 million deaths out of a population of 42 million.

Kseniya Simonova says: "I find it difficult enough to create art using paper and pencils or paintbrushes, but using sand and fingers is beyond me. The art, especially when the war is used as the subject matter, even brings some audience members to tears. And there’s surely no bigger compliment."

Maya Angelou sharing insipirational thoughts on her 70+ birthday..

In April 2009, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday.

Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was 'exciting...'
  1. Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day.....like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first.
  2. Maya Angelou said this:
  3. I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.
  4. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.
  5. I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.
  6. I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as 'making a life'.
  7. I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.
  8. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back.
  9. I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.
  10. I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
  11. I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.
  12. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Unfold The Rosebud...

A new minister was walking with an older, more seasoned minister in the garden one day. Feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was asking the older preacher for some advice.

The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him to open it without tearing off any petals..

The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his life and ministry. But because of his great respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to try to unfold the rose, while keeping every petal intact.

It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was to do.

Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud without tearing it, the older preacher began to recite the following poem...

It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
the secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so easily,
But in my hands they die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have the wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust in God for leading
Each moment of my day.
I will look to God for guidance
In each step of the way.
The path that lies before me,
Only my Lord knows.
I'll trust God to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers.This includes age, weight, and height.Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.
2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.
3. Keep learning:Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever.Never let the brain get idle."An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimers!
4. Enjoy the simple things
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and lots of time with him or her!
6. The tears happen:Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourself. LIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health:If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it.If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is
10. Tell the people you love ,that you love them, at every opportunity.

Think Higher

A man saw a poor boy looking at his beautiful and expensive car; he offered the boy a drive ....After the drive the boy said: "Your car is so marvellous, it might be so expensive ? How much does it cost ?"

Man: "I don't know, my brother gifted it to me."

Boy : "Wow, so nice of him ..."

Man: "I know what you are thinking. You also want to have a brother like him !"

Boy: "NO ! I want to be a brother like him !!! "

Always think higher than the people's expectations !!!
